Altra Lone Peak 6

TOG Reviews's avatar TOG Reviews January 9, 2022

LOVE THEM!!

😍😍😍

Pros:

  • Super stylish! I’m a huge fan of the new colors the LP6 have available. I’m happy with the color scheme I chose, but I really dig the green ones too!😍
  • Best constructed Lone Peaks I have ever had. Previous versions I have had always had a few loose threads here and there. These ones seem perfect!
  • So comfortable!
  • Light weight. I have been running in my Olympus 4’s for some time lately, and I have forgotten how light these feel/are!
  • Toe box is dream like!

Cons:

  • Too good looking! I don’t want to get them dirty because they look so nice in their new sate!! I’m hoping they clean up nice after a muddy outing!?
  • The sole looks like it’s exactly the same as previous models and they have traditionally worn down too fast. 🤷‍♂️
  • Expensive @$140.00usd. 💰
  • I wish the laces were longer. I use the heal lock and struggle with them falling out of the “loops” when I untie them. 🤔

I have yet to take them on a run yet. I have been wearing them around my house and never want to take them off. I will update this review post first run. ☮️

Men’s Altra Lone Peak 5 review.

TOG Reviews's avatar TOG Reviews March 12, 2021

Altra’s first Lone Peak with an option for Wide Feet!! Sounds exciting I know!! Just make sure you size down at least one size from what you are accustomed to with the LP’s! I have to exchange my pair for a smaller size before I can review…

Initial impressions are great!! They seem really well constructed and I’m really excited to give them a test run!!!

New Box!!

🦋VOLLEBAK BLUE MORPHO🦋If you like Blue, this is the hard shell for you!! – REVIEW-

TOG Reviews's avatar TOG Reviews December 13, 2020

If you like the blue, like really LIKE the color blue, then this is the jacket for you!!

Pros:

  • It’s a beautiful jacket! Like really beautiful!
  • Super cozy and keeps me warm regardless of what the weather is doing. Especially love the material used to keep your face warm because it is super soft!
  • Pockets are well designed and spacious.

Cons:

  • Expensive AF!
  • Zippers are highest quality, but they do not glide very easily when operating. Hoping they will as the garment ages.
  • I’m concerned about the durability. After wearing it quite “gingerly”, I have noticed some of the blue glass being rubbed away and the jacket is showing ‘white’ streaking. The streaks are not necessarily ugly, but unique to each garment. Just hoping it stays waterproof as time goes on.

ASICS $40 CHIN DIAPER/ Runners Face Cover review.

TOG Reviews's avatar TOG Reviews December 9, 2020

Never thought I would ever be reviewing or get excited about a face cover! 😷

This face mask got my attention when the pandemic started. It claimed to be designed for runners and it sold out as soon as it was released. I signed up to be notified when it will be released again via email. I woke up to an email from Ascis stating that the face masks were back in stock. I order 4 because I wanted to gift them in anticipation that they would be “life changing” while exercising. The “ONE SIZE FITS ALL” made the ordering super easy!! I read some reviews while waiting for them to be delivered and I was shocked to read the negative reviews that came up. So I was waiting in anticipation to see what Non-returnable purchase I made!

This mask is NOT “ONE SIZE FITS ALL”!! When I have it on and happen to open my mouth, the mask exposes my nose and mouth!! This results in Zero protection for everyone while wearing. Maybe it works better on people with smaller heads?? I’ll be trying other manufacturers masks because this one just was a waste of $40 in my situation. See photos below.

Pros:

  • The mask looks great on me!
  • The construction seems durable.
  • The cords that hang from your neck keep the mask from ending up on the ground.
  • That’s it! I’m struggling to find any thing else positive.

Cons:

  • Not one size fits all!!! It is too small for me.
  • $40!!
  • Not enough protection from viruses due to the ventilation below the chin.
Mask feels secure if my mouth is closed…
Open my mouth and my nose is exposed! So disappointing!!🤬
The mask returns to rest below my nostrils after closing my mouth. FAILURE 😣

AirPods Pro with Wireless charging case Review…

I was really excited to try these new Airpods with Noise Cancellation because my over the ear Bose just failed due to moisture exposure.  I already had the original Airpods and was a huge fan.

Pros:

  1. The Pro’s have 3 different sized soft ear pieces that you get to choose based on the size of your ear.  This is an awesome new feature because the older models did not give you the ability for a comfortable fit.  My daughters ears are just too small for the originals and she cannot comfortably utilize them.
  2. The new rubber ear tips do create a snugger fit in your ear canal, and I find this really keeps them in more securely while exercising.  This is especially beneficial when enjoying winter activities because it would suck to lose one in deep snow.
  3. The sound is better than the originals, audiophiles will appreciate the deeper bass and tighter trebles.
  4. The noise cancelling works ok….  It’s better than not having the option while listening to music, but the cancellation pales in comparison to the Bose over the air styles that i’m accustomed to.
  5. Transparency Mode assists with hearing ambient sounds and conversation, but i felt that the original style Airpods allowed sufficient sound with its passive cancellation (Just physically blocking the sound).
  6. Smaller stick protruding out of your ear is nice!
  7. The smaller size is definitely more concealable for peeps concerned about style.

Cons:

  1. Removing the accelerometer control is idiotic!!  Tapping my winter hat to pause/skip is awesome.  Having to actually squeeze a smaller shaft to pause or skip a track is Idiotic.  I find myself hanging up on people while simply adjusting the pods in my ears to provide better comfort.  So frustrating!!  Bring the “tap” back!!
  2. I find that they are more difficult to remove from the case as quickly as the original version.  This has translated into more missed calls.  The older style is just so easy to open and grab a bud quickly to use instead of speaker phone or holding the phone up to ear old school style.
  3. $250.00!!  Crazy expensive!!
  4. Only available in one color; White.  I would love to have a bright color in case of dropping a bud in the snow.
  5. I have noticed some bugs while using them, but i’m hopeful future software/firmware updates will eliminate them.

I do appreciate the new features but i do find myself carrying both sets and utilize them based on the situation.  For a simple wireless connection for listening to music and answering calls while on the go, the originals are perfectly sufficient.  If you are feeling super Gucci, buy a pair to have both.  Ive been tempted to return the Airpod Pro’s because they are not all that much better than the originals, and I do find myself using them more because they are so easy to insert into the ear.

Bottom line:  Buy both if you can swing it…. Ughhhhh lol
